Check If antivirus is working or not

1.Copy the following in notepad
X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARDANTIVIRUS-
TEST-FILE!$H+H*
2.then save the file as eciar.exe
3.if your antivirus stops to save the file or your antivirus detect the file as a virus your antivirus is running well.
